UFree Network has called on the Egyptian authorities to step up their pressure on the Israeli occupation so as to immediately release the political former-prisoners of Shalit Swap Deal, re-apprehended during the recent Israeli mass-arrest campaign launched across the Occupied West Bank.
UFree has slammed Israel’s infringement of the swap deal's terms by re-arrested 62 former-prisoners in the military campaign initiated since early June.
The network said that Israel has flouted the 2011 swap deal more than, turning blind eyes and deaf ears to the Egyptian and European brokered-terms.
The most flagrant violation cropped up as Israeli re-incarcerated dozens of Palestinian former-prisoners, re-sentencing them to previous prison terms, including life-sentences.
With regard to such flagrant contraventions, UFree Network calls on Egypt to immediately step in so as to rehabilitate the former-prisoners’ freedom, as it has already pledged in the deal, and to never give Israel room for striking a blow at its credibility as a broker.
In a related matter, UFree voiced its concern over the fate of tens of Palestinian citizens apprehended since the launch of the recent military aggression on the Gaza Strip, wondering where and how they have been held. Reports on cases of on-the-spot executions of a number of detainees have brought such concerns to climactic heights.
UFree Network calls on the Palestinian truce delegation in Cairo and all mediators to press ahead with the initiation of a cease-fire agreement to be only put into effect if all political prisoners detained after 12th June 2014 are granted immediate and un-conditional release.
