UFree Network condemns Israeli bill against Palestinian minor detainees

UFree Network condemned the Israeli new laws approved recently by the Knesset against Palestinian minor detainees, saying that using snipers against Palestinian children even though they were involved in stone-throwing incidents is an “explicit murder”.

Earlier last month, the Israeli Knesset has approved a law that imposes up to 20 years imprisonment on minors convicted of throwing stones at Israeli soldiers, while a new bill has been recently submitted to impose heavy fines on their parents.

Last week, Israel stepped up its discriminatory policy against Palestinians by approving a law allowing the use of live ammunition against Palestinian minors who throw stones at Israeli forces.

UFree Network said that the bill constitutes a flagrant violation to the international human rights laws and conventions especially Article 16 and 37 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
