On the eve of the Palestinian Prisoners Soceity, UFree Network called on international community to exort more pressures on Israeli authorities to stop human rights violations against Palestinian political prisoners and detainees.
Palestinian Prisoners’ Day this year comes while Israeli violations and punitive measures have been escalated against Palestinian prisoners who are protected under the Forth Geneva Convention.
Over 7,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in 22 Israeli jails and detention centers. More than 750 of them are held in administrative detention without charge or trial. Over 400 Palestinian children as young as 12 years old are held in Israeli prisons.
It is remarkable that international solidarity with Palestinian prisoners is growing. UFree will continue its worldwide activities to tell the world of the constant violations perpetrated by Israel against Palestinian prisoners.
